From Jalan Syed Putra to the north, it connects commuters to Brickfields, KL Sentral and Kuala Lumpur City Centre. To the west, it is linked to one of the most iconic roads in Kuala Lumpur, Lebuhraya Persekutuan (Federal Highway).
Federal Highway connects commuters to suburbs such as Petaling Jaya, Bangsar, Shah Alam, Klang and Port Klang. In the west through E37 East-West Link Expressway, it also allows commuters to travel to places such as Cheras, Kajang, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and further to Seremban, Melaka and Johor Bahru. For public transport users, there are three major KTM stations located along Old Klang Road. The nearest will be the Pantai Dalam KTM station located close to Scott Garden. Petaling KTM station is located further at Kampung Pasir while Jalan Templer KTM Station is located in Petaling Jaya.
Rapid KL buses are also in abundance along Old Klang Road. Seven major buses are travelling to Pasar Seni Hub from Taman Sentosa, Taman Desa, LRT Awan Besar-Taman OUG, LRT Awan Besar, Puchong Utama, Puchong Prima and Flat Enggang Kinara. The seven locations are covered by route no 640, 650, 651, 652, 600, 602 and 671 respectively.
Connectivity will be further enhanced as the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line (SSP Line) is expected to be completed in 2022 with the introduction of Kuchai Lama MRT station.
