The New Chapter by The Owls Cafe

Entering the New Chapter by The Owls Cafe would immediately give one an impression of lightness that rejuvenates the tired body and mind. The bright, spacious and airy interior is made possible by ceiling-to-floor glass panels and the incorporation of Midorie plants.

New Chapter by The Owls Cafe has been attracting cafe goers in Bukit Jalil since its opening. Situated at the Calvary Convention Centre in Bukit Jalil, the cafe is highly frequented by youngsters and families for brunch, lunch and dinner.

With natural light streaming in from two sides, the cafe is well-lit and is a perfect pick-me-up to start the day. The natural plants also add vigour to the setting by providing the freshness that the eyes and lungs need. The entrance is flanked by a tall Midorie plant tower which adds a shade of green to the space.

According to New Chapter by The Owls Cafe founding partners Dennis Soon Wei Jie and Thomas Ooi Tack Hui, the cafe focuses on natural lighting. "As we specialise in brunch, we want our customers to feel the sunlight to feel energetic for the rest of the day”.

“Instead of using fake plants which are easy to maintain, we stick to real plants to develop a healthy environment within the cafe," said Soon.

"This results in lower temperature and more oxygen in the cafe,” he added.

True to their intention, their customers were buzzing with excitement and positive vibes. Equal importance is also given to the quality of food served at New Chapter by The Owls Cafe. The founder believed that the pull factor of the cafe is the balance they strike for all types of food. From coffee and dessert to appetisers and main dishes, they strive to serve good food to their customers.

We tasted their speciality desserts “Rebecca" and "Midorie”, pasta dishes “Creamy Seafood Pasta” and “Aglio Olio with Sea Bass”, as well as “Breakfast Hash" and "Truffle Mixed Fries". These dishes were served with drinks such as Peppermint Chocolate, Classic Cappuccino and Uji Matcha Latte.

True to their aim to serve decent food and striking a balance between all dishes, the meals were delicious. The winning crown, however, goes to Rebecca. Fluffy waffle topped with homemade Earl Grey ice cream, fresh strawberries and bananas, Rebecca is a must try for everyone visiting the cafe.
