Best@Shah Alam: Born&Bred: Denai Alam Riding Club: Riding into the horizon By Viktor Chong viktorchong@thestar.com.my    A soft breeze swept its way across the grassy plains, slow and comforting.

Under the morning sun, a couple of horses could be seen cantering languidly about in the field.

Visitors, young and old would gather at the side of the iron railings, looking out longingly.

Regardless of age, all were taken in by the charm of these powerful yet gentle beasts.

According to Denai Alam Recreational and Riding Club founder Terry Teo, the Denai Alam Club is among some of the cheapest riding clubs in the world, as it is not run on a profit model.

“Here, we want families to have quality time together, to bond, enjoy and learn as one,” said Teo, adding that the club is a place to relax.

The club spans an area of over 16 acres, housing 82 horses of various breeds.

Yearly membership fees are only at RM290 per family.

Teo said that the club currently has around 12,000 registered families, with over 120 families joining per month.

Horses are not the only attraction being offered at Denai Alam.

The riding club also offers various eastern cuisines such as the spicy yet appetising Nasi Padang or the delicious Laksa.

Visitors could feed the horses with chopped carrots for RM5 per bowl.
