Best@Shah Alam: Born&Bred 2: Alan Hoo: Life in a garden city Section 13 By Viktor Chong viktorchong@thestar.com.my Who? Alan Hoo Keng Wai Length of stay? Seven years c o-founder of BrandImage Consultancy Alan Hoo Keng Wai is among the pioneers of image consultancy in Malaysia.
Previously from Damansara, he moved to Shah Alam seven years ago and immediately fell in love with the place.
Citing issues like parking and traffic jams, Hoo sold off his home in Damansara Tropicana Resort Homes and purchased his mansion at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Golf and Country Club.
According to him, it was cold and soothing in Shah Alam, especially with the ample green landscape.
It was a bonus for Hoo when he discovered that the MBSA intended to transform the city into a garden city.
Concerning the local cuisines there, Hoo pointed out that Shah Alam has a wealth of good Malay and Indian food.
“If you are interested in Chinese cuisines, there is always Klang nearby or also Glenmarie, SS15 and Subang,” he said.
“Shah Alam is growing at a steady pace, unlike other areas where the development is too fast,” said Hoo, adding that the price of residential and commercial properties are still a fraction compared to places such as Petaling Jaya and Damansara.
Hoo observed that the occurrence of snatch thieves is also negligible here in Shah Alam.
“The people are kind, educated and helpful and the crime rate here is also very low,” he said.
