Best@Shah Alam: Born&Bred 3: Mariam: A for easy access Alam Impian By Aisyah Suwardi aisyahs@thestar.com.my    Who?  Isman Zakri Ismar & Mariam Shukor Length of stay?   Twelve years I n 2006, MRT Corp Sdn Bhd project manager Isman Zakri Ismar and his wife, Pesona Pengantin editor Mariam Shukor came to Shah Alam, staying in Taman Bukit Subang for four years.

Eventually, the couple relocated to Denai Alam for two years before settling down in Alam Impian.

Living over 12 years in Shah Alam, the couple has much to say about the place.

“Shah Alam is the place to live in if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but it is still a distance away to the town,” said Mariam.

Among the many charms of the place, Mariam enjoyed the peaceful surroundings of the neighbourhood as well as the culinary delights.

According to her, there are a variety of great Malay food there, such as Restoran Hartini in Section 10, where famous East Coast dishes are served such as Nasi Dagang, Kuih-Muih, Laksa, and mixed rice.

“There is also a restaurant in Section 15 called Mr Sambal where you can get authentic Asam Pedas, all the way from Muar,” said Mariam.

She also suggested to visitors to try out the Soto at Section 13.

Citing accessibility as some of the prime reasons to relocate in Alam Impian, Isman said that the area is well connected to several highways such as the Federal, LKSA and KESAS highway.

“It only takes me about five minutes to reach Section 14 of Shah Alam through the LKSA,” he said.
